ENGINEERING / FOUNDATIONS

Many capabilities. One considered architecture.

Alchemy is the work behind Rasen Falcon: semantic objects, distributed services and portable applications joined without erasing their independent authority.

01 / THE SUBJECT

A project in applied systems architecture, where ooRexx, native runtimes, service contracts and the MI/MU mesh can work together without making any one transport compulsory.

01 / 03

The object is the centre

Alchemy treats an object as more than a bag of fields. Identity, method authority, evidence and protected behaviour matter. ooRexx is a principal language of application behaviour and orchestration, while native and cross-language components contribute specialised capabilities.

  • Application state has an owner
  • Ownership is visible
  • Interfaces are explicit
02 / 03

Connect, without compulsory coupling

Local direct invocation, standalone JSON-RPC and Queue Fabric are different means of reaching a service. Queue Fabric is valuable for durable jobs, retained status and scheduling, but an ordinary service should not be forced to depend on it when simpler interaction is sufficient.

  • Direct local calls
  • RPC service dispatch
  • Durable queue-backed work
03 / 03

A distributed system that can explain itself

The RexxOS MI/MU mesh, compute placement, job migration and storage services are designed to carry work and evidence between machines. The aim is reliable continuation, not a claim that every workstream has reached production qualification.

  • Explicit resource admission
  • Portable work definitions
  • Checkpointable execution
  • Separable transport and semantics
